The Bellevue PTSA Council Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the 2016-17 Council elected officers.  The Council elections are scheduled for May 2, 2016 general membership meeting.  According to the standing rules of the Bellevue PTSA Council, the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Advocacy Director are elected by the general membership. Co-nominees can be considered for all positions except treasurer.

To be elected to office in a council, a person shall be at least 18 years of age. The person shall have been a member of a local PTA board of directors or council board of directors for at least one term, and shall have been a member of a local PTA in the council for at least 30 days preceding the election.

If you are interested in serving any of the elected positions or know someone eligible for nomination, please send an e-mail to bellevueptsacouncil.nomcom@gmail.com.  All three members of the nominating committee, Sarah Butcher, Meribeth Nordloef-Pedersen, and Lisa Shank, will be reviewing the nominations and contacting nominees.  Please provide both an e-mail address and phone number for each nominee.

The Purpose of a Nominating Committee in any PTA

The charge of the nominating committee is to recognize and recruit the most qualified people available for elected PTA positions. It is the most important committee in PTA. Having qualified people step into leadership positions in a local PTA or council or at the state level will ensure success for many years into the future. The work of this committee is paramount to fulfilling our mission as PTAs.
