Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarships

​Each year, Bellevue PTSA Council offers twelve (12) $1000 scholarships to seniors representing each high school in BSD. The Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship recognizes outstanding community service and rewards one student from each high school a $1000 scholarship. The Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship rewards academic excellence to one graduating senior from each high school, funded by Bellevue PTSA Council.  Applicants will be evaluated by the Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship Committee consisting of representatives from each high school.

Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship
(Outstanding Community Service)
The Alice Hurd Memorial Scholarship is generously funded by a trust established by the Hurd Family to honor their wife and mother, Alice Hurd. She was a tireless and enthusiastic volunteer in PTA, and an outstanding child advocate. In recognition of her volunteer spirit, an Alice Hurd Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from each of the Bellevue high school who has gone above and beyond in service to the community, and contributed a substantial number of  community service hours.  The $1000 scholarship will be paid directly to the U.S. college or university that the recipient is attending to cover the cost of tuition, or room & board. The scholarship is open to all current high school seniors.

BELLEVUE PTSA COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP
(ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE)
The Bellevue PTSA Council offers the Bellevue PTSA Academic Scholarship to one high school senior at each of the six Bellevue School District high schools to recognize academic excellence. There will be a total of 6 scholarships awarded. 
The $1000.00 scholarship will be paid directly to the U.S. college or university that the recipient is attending to cover the cost of tuition, or room & board. The scholarship is open to all current high school seniors.

how do i apply?
​Applications are all online!  (See links under "Alice Hurd Memorial" and "Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship")
​In one email, ([email protected]) include:
  1. Subject Line: Scholarship name, student name, and high school
  2. Attach a scanned copy of the requested documents.  Unofficial copies are acceptable.
  3. Letter of recommendation can be emailed by applicant or emailed directly to scholarship committee by teacher (must reference student name, high school name and scholarship name in subject line).  Letter of recommendation previously written for applicant's college applications can be submitted.
when is the application deadline?
The Application deadline for the 2024-25 school year is Sunday, June 1, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
WHEN IS THE Awards & recognition night?
The Awards notification day will be on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. And Celebration will be on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. Time and location TBD.
​NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS FOR JUDGING SCHOLARSHIPS
The Bellevue PTSA Council Scholarship Committee is looking for volunteers to serve as judges for Bellevue PTSA Council's Academic & Service (Alice Hurd) scholarships. 
The work will take place between
May 24 - May 31, 2025. All of the review work can be done at home at a time during that week that is convenient for you. Judges can view the applications online and will submit their results via email.
We ask about your student(s) grade levels & schools, as we try to avoid assigning judges to schools where they might have students.
